Dear Students, Esteemed Families, and Valued Stakeholders,
Aging is a natural stage of life in which individuals’ physical, psychological, and social needs change and which requires special attention and professional care. Today, the increase in average life expectancy and the growing proportion of the older population have made elderly care services increasingly important. These developments have also created a greater need for qualified healthcare professionals who are well-trained in their field, committed to ethical values, and capable of providing person-centered care.
The Elderly Care Program offered within Tarsus University Vocational School of Health Services aims to educate elderly care technicians who can assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of older individuals through a holistic approach, possess professional knowledge and practical skills, and have a strong sense of responsibility.
Our program provides students with both theoretical and practical education in areas such as elderly care, common age-related diseases, nutrition, personal care, rehabilitation, first aid, communication, professional ethics, and social support services. Throughout the educational process, importance is placed not only on enabling our students to acquire professional competence, but also on helping them become empathetic individuals who are capable of teamwork, adaptable to changing care services, and committed to lifelong learning.
By supporting our students’ education with practical applications, we aim to help them gain professional experience and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to improve the quality of life of older individuals. Through cooperation with public institutions, private-sector organizations, healthcare institutions, and care centers, we place great emphasis on helping our students become familiar with the sector and continue their professional development.
We are pleased to welcome all students to our program who are committed to providing respectful, safe, ethical, and high-quality care to older individuals.
